Department of Defense (DoD) Information Security and Insider Threat Practice Test

Addiction to gaming can be classified as a behavioral indicator in terms of insider threat vulnerabilities. Behavioral indicators are observable actions, patterns, or habits that can signal a potential risk or threat within an organization. In this context, a person exhibiting signs of gaming addiction may demonstrate patterns such as decreased productivity, increased absences from work, or a shift in focus from job-related responsibilities to gaming activities.

These behaviors could lead to vulnerabilities, as an individual who is preoccupied with gaming may be more susceptible to social engineering attacks, less vigilant about security protocols, or may even engage in risky behavior such as sharing sensitive information online. Recognizing these behavioral indicators is essential for identifying potential insider threats early on, allowing for appropriate interventions or support mechanisms to be implemented to mitigate any associated risks.

Other options, such as technological indicators or security measures, do not fit the nature of addiction to gaming, as they pertain more to systems and protocols rather than individual behaviors. Management challenges could relate to the broader implications of gaming addiction, but they do not specifically identify the addiction itself as an indicator of an insider threat.
